    No this is not an indication of musical taste within the charity but excitement that Bolton couple, Matthew and Becky Nolan, will be running the 2024 Greater Manchester Half-marathon for NWBB. Our Central Area events and fundraising champion Becky Pow will be keeping us up to date with the progress on both fitness and fundraising. Recently they dropped in to be photographed with one of our liveried bikes.

    North West Blood bikes Lancs and Lakes - registered charity 1147282 - have been providing volunteer motorcyle transport support to the NHS across Lancashire and South Lakes for ten years. The Charity was officially registered on 12th May 2012. So on Thursday evening 12th May 2022 Blackpool Tower will be lit red as many of the NWBB volunteers, supporters and stakeholders gather to celebrate the occasion.

    100,000 Rides - Huge milestone for North West Blood Bikers

    As Britain’s busiest blood bike service we are celebrating 100,000 mercy missions - covering more than 1.5 million miles (to the moon and back three times) and saving the NHS more than £5.5 million over the last nine and a half years. North West Blood Bikes, which covers Lancashire and South Lake District, marked the milestone with a routine mission.

    RIDERS IN THE STORM - NWBB COMPLETE 80,000 DELIVERIES

    The unpaid volunteer motorcycle riders and car drivers of North West Blood Bikes Lancs and Lakes have continued to operate through the COVID19 pandemic. This is despite having to shield some members from the virus for personal or age-related risk of exposure. The charity has been able to meet the request of the NHS to continue providing the level of safe, free, professional volunteer transport our healthcare customers have come to expect and rely upon outside normal work hours.

    On 2nd May this year we will have been operational for 7 years and will have responded to 64,000 call outs.

    All our 423 Members have done an amazing job, either controlling the riders, or being a rider, or fundraiser and spreading the word about who we are.
